Fragrance Creators Welcomes
Two New Board Members
Clarke and Castro bring a wealth of international experience in
fragrance creation, regulation
Joanna (Jo) Clarke, R&D Director,
Flavors, Fragrances and Freshness
Delivery Systems, for The Procter & Gamble
Company (P&G), joined the Fragrance
Creators Association Board in April 2019.
In her current role at P&G, she oversees the
enterprise-wide formulation capability for
flavors and fragrances for one of the strongest
portfolios of trusted, quality, leadership
brands, including Crest®, Dawn®, Downy®,
Febreze®, Gain®, Head & Shoulders®,
Olay®, Pantene®, Old Spice®, and Tide®.
Clarke holds a Master’s Degree in
Chemistry from the University of Oxford.
She brings a wealth of expertise and
leadership in the research and development
space to the Board as well as formulation
expertise driving longevity of fragrances in
consumer products. She has contributed to
the success of global initiatives across P&G’s
Fabric and Home Care businesses.

novel and everyday experiences.”
Luciana Castro, Senior Vice President of
Global Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs
at Firmenich, joined the Board in July 2019.
Castro has 27 years of international
experience in the flavors and fragrance
industry. In Brazil, she held leadership
positions in application, creation, regulatory,
and quality at Danisco, Haarmann & Reimer
(today Symrise), and Firmenich. In 2012,
she was transferred to Firmenich Mexico
to take the position of General Manager in
the local affiliate. Three years later, she was
invited to move to the U.S. as Senior Vice
President of Global Regulatory Services.
She earned an Engineering Degree in Food
Technology and Processing, an MBA, and a
Master’s Degree in Quality and Productivity.
Prior to her Board assignment, Castro served
on Fragrance Creators’ Regulatory Science
Executive Committee, of which she became
Chair in 2019.
“I am thrilled to bring my perspectives to
the Fragrance Creators Board,” said Castro.
“I am eager to support the association as it
advances our mission to promote fragrance
and our industry.”
